We just got back from the annual IPI conference (that is Independent Photo Imagers for anyone not in the printing business) and we are bursting with ideas and all kinds of exciting new information. Now, it’s back to reality and time to implement some of the great things we learned.
Here is the first one…spreading the word and educating people about the APPO which is the Association of Personal Photo Organizers. This is a new association that is similar to the world of Professional Organizers, only it is just for photos, videos, and photo memorilabilia. Did you ever wish that you could take all of your boxes of photos from who knows how many years and put them in some kind of order where they made sense or an album of some kind where they could actually be enjoyed and tell their stories? Now, there are people out there who will help you do this and even do a good part of it for you if you want them to.
A Personal Photo Organizer sits down with you to look at your individual needs and what you would like the outcome of this venture to be. Maybe you are downsizing and need help compiling photos into manageable storage containers with the most important ones compiled into an album. Maybe you have prints, digital photos, home movies, and kid’s artwork and are so overwhelmed, you don’t even know where to begin. Do you have a child graduating from high school and want to give them an album commemorating their journey in life thus far? Christmas presents, High School Reunions, Family Reunions, Memorials….the possibilities are endless. And that’s the point, sometimes endless possibilities can be extremely overwhelming.
Because we believe this is such a worthwhile endeavor, f/32 Photo has signed on with the APPO as an associated retailer. What does this mean? We want to partner with Personal Photo Organizers to provide the scanning, printing, video conversion, and album making services they need to service their clients. We also want to serve as a promoter and referral service for local Personal Photo Organizers. Since we already have people coming to us for services in the same arena, what better place to start educating and marketing this unique service?
So, if you are interested in becoming a Personal Photo Organizer or learning more about it, please visit www.personal-photo-organizer.com for more details on the association and how you can get started. The resources that they already have for a new organization are tremendous! They are also on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Personal-Photo-Organizers/361013732470. If you have a passion for this, it would be a great entrepreneurial adventure. Have questions or want to talk about it with someone? Feel free to stop by the store anytime and we’ll be happy to discuss it with you whether you are interested in becoming an organizer or hiring one!
